International Silmo Istanbul Optical Fair continues on its way with sure steps

The International Silmo Istanbul Optical Fair, which was held in Istanbul Fair Center Yeşilköy at 9th and 10th halls from November 30 to December 3, 2017, successfully completed the fifth anniversary of the fair of the fair marathon, which started in 2013. International Silmo Istanbul 2017, which was held for the fifth time with the partnership of 24 Saat Fuarcilik and Silmo International, once again proved its importance in the optical sector with its exhibitors, visitors, training and informing meetings and trade volüme at both national and international arena. At the Silmo Istanbul 2017 Optical Fair, which continues to grow with 1500 sqm additional service area in the front of IFM, presented of national and interrnational 120 exhibitors’ collections of 2017/2018, optical glasses, contact lenses, contact lens accessories and maintenance equipment, sunglasses, optometric, ophthalmologic apparatus and accessories, ophthalmological measurement diagnostic and treatment apparatus, optical workshop and laboratory equipment, spectacle parts, optical industrial machines, all new technological developments od sector with almost 600 brands to visitors. Silmo Istanbul has successfully accomplished its unifying and developing role in 2017 with its mission of meeting and developing the optical sector of Turkey with the optical sectors of Europe, Asia, Eurasia and Near-Middle East. Silmo Istanbul 2017 has been one of the main obstacles to our country's negative reflection on the optical sector due to the global economic conditions that are suddenly changing and reacting, weakening and recovering economic conditions and many developments and negative conditions in the industry. Silmo Istanbul Optical Fair hosted 9246 visitors in 2017 with the participation of 110 national exhibitors, 7 international exhibitors, 2 universities, Opticians Confederations and associations serving the sector. Compared to the number of visitors in 2016, Silmo İstanbul 2017 successfully completed the fair with a rate of +6.6% (9246) in 2017. In addition to this, the number of international visitors increased by +24.5% to 1400 persons. Silmo Istanbul 2017 has achieved success in line with its mission by helping to increase the number of international visitors and especially the promotion of domestic investors and brands on the international platform and the growth of Turkey's trade volume. This is a sign that the Middle East and European countries will see Silmo Istanbul among the important trade centers in the coming years. Silmo İstanbul 2017 is hosting and sponsoring for the second time the "From the Past to Present Opticianry " exhibition, which exhibits countless spectacles, optical products and devices from 1800's to present, and which takes its visitors back to 100-year-old adventure of eyewear and is becoming Turkey's first spectacle museum, and it has once again proved the point of view towards the future. Silmo Istanbul will continue its education and informing programs in 2017. It hosted GfK, one of the world's largest research companies operating in more than 100 countries with more than 13,000 professionals made a presentation named "How to Adapt Macroeconomic Market Environment to Achieve Profitability and Growth? by GfK’s Global Optic Sector Director Gianni Cossar. Following Gfk’s presentation, education and informing program continue with the presentation named Product Following System of Health Ministry and Social Security Institution’s related authorities and the meeting named as “Optic Sector, Problems and New Regulations”. Within Silmo Istanbul 2017, "Gift Draw" attracted attention, which is aimed to further stimulate trade relations, by strengthening the links between exhibitors and visitors. As part of the Gift Draw, many companies participating in the fair starts to let lucky ones to have their new season products.
